Web Enabling OpenVMS Data and Applications
This day-long session will focus on implementing technologies as well as the tools and techniques
available to make existing OpenVMS data and applications Internet/Intranet ready. We'll concentrate
on Web enabling OpenVMS data and applications for integration into an Windows NT/OpenVMS
environment that will let you continue to exploit the high availability that you require of your back-end
OpenVMS systems.
This session will have heavy emphasis on how to ensure your new environment is scaleable to
accommodate the high transaction rates and high number of concurrent users that will likely occur when
your application debuts on the Internet/Intranet. Various technologies will be discussed for
implementations across OpenVMS and Windows NT.
Topics covered will include:
- Integrating New Windows NT based development with existing OpenVMS systems.
- Using Application Server technologies in an OpenVMS/Windows NT environment.
- Web enabling back end OpenVMS systems (RMS, DBMS, and Oracle Rdb databases) using Universal Data access methods and tools (including ISG Navigator, IBI WEBFocus, and Connex).
- Implementing Web/Thin Client solutions with ACMS/DECforms family products (emphasizing the TP Web Connector products and DECforms Web Connector).
Throughout the seminar, we'll Web enable sample applications using state-of- the-art Windows NT-based tools and techniques.
