Monday, October 5 through Thursday, October 8

Build on what you know and walk away with valuable, practical new knowledge

You can tap into the knowledge of peers and technical gurus at the DECUS DataCenter, where the agenda features interactive sessions and self-paced tutorials as well as easy web access.

Interactive sessions focus on setting up an environment, troubleshooting, and learning about languages, tools and products. This forum is designed to generate meaningful, technical discussions between speakers and audiences. The hands-on approach gives you the opportunity to install and upgrade products then and there, while what you've learned in the seminars and sessions is still fresh on your mind.

Installing and Implementing Windows NT and Integrating Microsoft Exchange in a DIGITAL messaging environment are just two of the timely topics scheduled for the DECUS '98/Los Angeles interactive sessions. DIGITAL AlphaStations, server systems, and PCs will be available for your use during these sessions.

Create your own web page

At DECUS '98/Los Angeles, members of the DECUS Local Users Groups (LUGs) invite you to stop by the DECUS Data Center to design and post your own web page.

Take advantage of this fun and educational opportunity to learn basic HTML and Microsoft FrontPage '98 web formatting techniques to assemble your web page. A digital camera and scanner will also be available, so come prepared to be creative. Your completed web page will be displayed for your colleagues to view throughout the DECUS event -- and you'll be automatically eligible to win this year's "Best of the Web" award.

Learn OpenVMS system management from the pros
Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6

Sponsored by the DECUS Dallas-Fort Worth Local Users Group (DFWLUG), this OpenVMS Class Series provides a venue for system managers who want to learn how to manage their OpenVMS environment more efficiently and effectively.

Conducted in the DECUS DataCenter, the two-day class covers everything from managing users and system resources to clusters, networking and security. Hands-on labs are an integral part of the class.

Here's your opportunity to learn from skilled systems managers with years of experience, who have seen most every problem or situation that a new system manager might face. Bring your questions and problems -- if you have run into the "unsolvable," chances are someone else has too.
